Each Sunday, we gather in the sanctuary – lifting our voices in praise, sharing prayers, and soaking in the Word. I look at this time as a time to pause, prepare and find refreshment as we move into a new week.
Jesus didn’t spend all His time in the temple. He walked dusty roads, sat at dinner tables, healed in the streets, and spoke life into everyday moments. His ministry was mobile, relational, and deeply rooted in the ordinary. And He calls us to do the same.
So what does it look like to take our faith outside the doors of the church?
It looks like kindness in the checkout line.
It looks like listening deeply to a friend over coffee.
It looks like volunteering, mentoring, and showing up for those who feel forgotten.
It looks like praying not just in pews, but in parking lots, classrooms, and break rooms.
Faith isn’t confined to Sunday mornings – it’s meant to spill into Monday meetings, Tuesday errands, and every moment in between. When we live with grace, speak with love, and act with compassion, we become walking sanctuaries. This is our call – to become The Church.
This month, I challenge each of us to find one new way to live our faith outside these walls. Maybe it’s inviting a neighbor to dinner, writing a note of encouragement, or simply being present for someone who’s struggling. Small acts, when done in love, ripple far beyond what we can see. Let us plant the seeds of faith.
Let’s be a congregation that doesn’t just gather. Let’s be the kind of people who carry the light of Christ into every corner of our community.
May you see God’s blessings in your day,
Pastor Nicole
