Treasured Congregation,
As we enter the season of Advent, we embark on a journey of anticipation and preparation. Advent, derived from the Latin word “adventus,” meaning “coming,” is a time for us to reflect on the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a season filled with hope, peace, joy, and love, as we prepare our hearts and minds for the celebration of Christ’s birth and His eventual return.
During these weeks leading up to Christmas, we light the Advent candles, each representing a different aspect of our faith journey. The first candle symbolizes HOPE, reminding us of the prophets who foretold the coming of the Messiah. The second candle represents PEACe, reflecting the peace that Christ brings into our lives. The third candle, often pink, signifies JOY, celebrating the joy of Christ’s arrival. The fourth candle stands for LOVE, embodying the love that God showed us through the gift of His Son.
Advent is a time for us to slow down and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. It is an opportunity to deepen our relationship with God, to seek His presence in our lives, and to share His love with others. As we light each candle, let us be reminded of the light of Christ that shines in the darkness, guiding us and giving us hope.
May this Advent season be a time of spiritual renewal and growth for each of us. Let us open our hearts to the transformative power of God’s love and prepare ourselves to warmly welcome Christ into our lives.
God’s Blessings Always,
Pastor Nicole
